Jocassee Lake Tours Collaboration

Plans are underway to offer a half-day Nature-based Stress Management workshop through Jocassee Lake Tours. This four-hour outing will use the backdrop of one of the southeast’s most inspiring settings, Lake Jocassee, to introduce participants to the Ecology of Resilience model. Stay tuned for details.

Ecology of Resilience Short Course Content

The course is organized into six sessions covering information, exercises, reflections, and strategies. Topics include stress, adversity, burnout, self-efficacy, helpful practices, the therapeutic benefits of nature, and the value of community.

  • Stress is universal – you can’t avoid it or eliminate it

  • However, you can learn to manage stress and bounce back from it – you can become more resilient

  • Spending time in natural environments is therapeutic and helps cultivate resilience

Nature4Stress is an abbreviated six-part version of an evidence-based academic course introducing the nature-based Ecology of Resilience framework described in detail here. It can be delivered virtually or in-person for individuals or groups of any size.
