What We Do

Why We Do It

  • As much as 85 cents of every dollar spent on physical and mental healthcare in the United States goes toward the treatment of conditions rooted in lifestyle choices

  • While you DON'T have control over some things in life, there are many areas you DO - individual health and wellness are two of them

  • Understanding health and wellness issues, implementing helpful practices, and connecting with others create an ecosystem of resilience, allowing you to manage, bounce back from, and rise above the busyness and adversity that inevitably finds all of us

  • The world needs you and your gifts - we help you be your best self and show up for the people who depend on you

What We Don't Do:

  • Diagnose physical or mental health issues

  • Conduct psychotherapy

  • Treat addictions

  • Give advice on prescription medications

  • Order or interpret lab tests

  • Sell supplements, miracle cures, or subscriptions

  • Bill insurance for reimbursement (for now, this is better, i.e. more cost-effective, for everyone involved and what makes wellness coaching a viable and affordable option)

  • Scope of practice is an important emphasis of the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). See also Coach or Clinician?, Coaching or Therapy?, and The Coach as Guide for more
